 Join your Netivot Shalom community for Shabbat in the woods on the shores of beautiful Lake Mendocino! We have reserved the Deer Camp group site in the Bushay Recreation area that includes space for 80 people, 20 cars, a private beach area, large area for communal gathering, eating, and praying, a bonfire pit, shaded tent areas with picnic tables, and even an electrical outlet for inflating air mattresses! The group site is a 5 minute walk to free hot showers and flush toilets; water and pit-toilets are available right at the group site. The Bushay Recreation area also includes a playground, shaded picnic areas, volleyball court and hiking trails along the lake. Lake Mendocino is located 2 and 1/2 hours north of Berkeley by car; the campground is within 15 minutes of Ukiah which has a number of grocery stores and other services.
Here is the schedule for the trip:
Friday 8/19
3:00 - 7:00pm arrive and set up camp
7:00pm Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma'ariv (candle lighting is 7:40pm; please plan to arrive by then at the latest)
8:00 Pot-luck Shabbat Dinner
Saturday 8/20
8:00am Breakfast
9:30 Shabbat morning Services
12:00 Shabbat Picnic Lunch
1:00pm Free time (hiking, swimming, sports, games, etc.)
6:00 Minchah
6:30 Seudah Shlishit (light dinner)
7:30 Study session / discussion with R' Shalom Bochner
8:30 Ma'ariv and Havdalah
9:00 Campfire and Dinner
Sunday 8/21
8:00 am Breakfast
9:30 Shacharit
10:30 Clean Up / Pack Up
11:30 enjoy the lake and the surrounding area
The cost is only $36 for adults and $30 for children. This includes two nights of camping, two full breakfasts, Seudah Shlishit, Saturday Dinner with meat and vegetarian options, and drinks and refreshments for the entire weekend. Participants need to bring a potluck dinner item for Friday night and a picnic lunch for Saturday in addition to tents and sleeping bags.
 We have room for up to 40 more people to attend the trip. To RSVP please e-mail education@netivotshalom.org and send a check to the office. Please write "camping trip" on the memo line. Deadline for RSVP's is Friday 8/12. Parking is limited; please car pool and let us know if you have space in your car for others. Please speak to me if you have any questions.
